    I woke up very early today. I don't know why I suddenly had to go to the bathroom. This time I was the first one to wake up in the family. My wife was the second, and then my daughter. My daughter was surprised to see me and asked me if I could take her to school. I didn't answer and walked to my bed silently while she went to wash her face. My wife asked me what I was doing. I said I wanted her to wonder if she really saw me getting up so early. When my daughter saw me again, I was already in bed pretending to sleep. She said, Dad, can you take me to school? My wife replied: Your dad is sleeping.

    I took an online class at 1pm. My teacher is American, but he doesn't live in the US. He's very friendly. Today our class is about "modal verbs". Although I know what modal verbs are, I want to learn them again. So that I can know what he is talking about. I thought "could" was just the past tense and more polite version of "can". Now I have a new understanding of "could". "Could" can also express unrealistic. For example: "I'm so hungry that I could eat an elephant". This doesn't mean that I can really eat an elephant. But I still don't understand why "I would have called you yesterday" means that I didn't call you.

    I made an appointment with another table tennis coach. She was a table tennis player before. In this class, she taught me forward and reverse attack. I made great progress. I asked her to give me another lesson tomorrow.
